Meet Steve Harvey's Wife: Everything To Know About Marjorie Harvey

Everyone knows who Steve Harvey is — but many don’t know the one person who has stood by the comedian’s side and guided him through the darkest moments of his life. The iconic Family Feud game show host, stand-up comedian and controversial Miss Universe Pageant host credits his wife, Marjorie Elaine Harvey (born Marjorie Bridges), for changing his life forever.

Steve and Marjorie’s love story is a classic tale of second chances. The couple’s first go at a relationship didn’t pan out as planned. The then-struggling comedian became homeless, ran out of funds and got into some trouble so the pair called it quits after a short period.

Many years later, the two reconnected and the University of Memphis dropout stole the heart of one of the most popular funny guys on TV.

Who Is Marjorie Harvey?
Born October 10, 1964, Marjorie is a clothing designer, business owner, blogger and social media influencer. She has more than 2 million followers on Instagram alone. Once she realized a college degree would not contribute to her career goals, she dropped out of the University of Memphis to pursue her passion for fashion and travel. She attended fashion shows from Hollywood to Paris to New York and back again, garnering all the information she could.  In 2007, with the encouragement of her soon-to-be husband, Steve, she finally took the leap of faith and started her fashion blog called "The Lady Loves Couture." In it, she writes about etiquette, tours, empowerment, tips on how to live lavishly on any budget, and many other fashion-related topics.  Her lifelong passion eventually turned into the websites Marjorie Harvey Closet and Marjorie Harvey Handbags. They quickly went viral, and her fame in the fashion world spread like wildfire and she has become a central figure in the couture scene. As mentioned previously, the couple started the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation together early on in their marriage, which Majorie now runs. This charity organization puts together youth outreach services, educational seminars, mentorships, international service opportunities and life transformation.  Zabulon Laurent/ABACA/Shutterstock
When Did Steve and Marjorie Harvey Meet?
During a live taping of The Family Feud, the comedian shared with the audience members the story of how the two met. The first time these two locked eyes was back in 1987 at a comedy club that Steve was performing at in Memphis called The Comedy Zone. She had walked into the show late and took a seat in the front while he just stared at her, mesmerized by her beauty. The comedian took the opportunity to speak to her during his set, "The first thing I said to Majorie was, ‘Excuse me, I don’t know who you are, but I’m going to marry you one day,’" Steve said.  Their initial romance fizzled after about a year and a half, and they went their separate ways.  Courtesy of Marjorie Harvey/Instagram
When Did Steve and Marjorie Harvey Get Married?
As fate would have it, the two reconnected through mutual friends in 2005 and the couple gave love a second chance. It was "the best day of my life," Steve recalls in his letter. After a year of dating, Steve proposed and the two tied the knot on June 25, 2007. As of 2022, their marriage is 15 years strong.  In honor of their 15-year anniversary, Steve penned a heartfelt letter published in Good Housekeeping, to the woman who stood by his side through thick and thin, reflecting on the time they’ve shared together: "It was just a perfect fit. It’s hard to explain. It wasn’t work. It wasn’t hard to be together. We laughed all the time. You made me happy. I made you happy. I filled in all your gaps. You sure filled in all my gaps. It didn’t take long for me to realize that you were the chick for me." "I want to thank you, because without you there is no way my life could be this," he continued. "I owe you a debt of gratitude because you simply changed my life… You are the single biggest reason outside of God’s grace that I am where I am today. You’re the one." Alex Brandon/AP/Shutterstock

Yes! The two are also grandparents. Their grandchild count is currently at seven, with hopefully more in the future.  Steve’s son Jason and his model wife Amanda are parents to four children. His daughter Morgan and her husband Kareem have two daughters. Daughter Karli and her entrepreneur husband Ben have one child together.  While it’s clear the Family Feud host loves his grandchildren, he quipped about his ever-expanding brood during his eponymous talk show in 2018, "I’ve been waiting years for my kids to get out of my house," he joked. "I wanna be an empty nester. Now they come back to the house and they got some more people with ’em. They always bring ’em over and drop ’em off." Courtesy of Marjorie Harvey/Instagram
